Actuary "Ezekial 25:17 - The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequites of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he that shepherds the weak from the valley of darkness for he is truly his brother's keeper, and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

The Corpus Christi Independent School District Board of Trustees officially voted tonight at a Special Called Board Meeting to name Mr. D. Scott Elliff as the District’s next superintendent of schools.

In addition, Mr. Elliff will receive a one-time cash payment of $5,000 upon completion and receipt of a Doctorate degree, and an opportunity to receive a $10,000 annual bonus based on job performance.
Back on April 9, the Board of Trustees voted to name Mr. Elliff the sole finalist for the superintendent’s position. State law requires the board wait 21 days before a contract is signed.

He also established and was named executive director for Citizens for Educational Excellence, a local non-profit group aimed at supporting local educational initiatives.
Under Mr. Elliff’s leadership, CCISD recently developed and implemented over 50 comprehensive curriculum guides for all core content area subjects and courses at all levels. Mr. Elliff was also instrumental in establishing the “Working on the Work” or WOW framework developed by the Schlechty Center for School Reform in the Corpus Christi Independent School District.
Mr. Elliff has lived in Corpus Christi for 29 years and is actively involved in the community. He currently serves on the following boards: Boy Scouts of America, YMCA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Corpus Christi Education Foundation, and Citizens for Educational Excellence. He is also a member of the Corpus Christi Rotary Club. In 2003, Mr. Elliff was awarded the President’s Award from the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and in 2000 he was named the Humanitarian of the Year by the National Conference for Community and Justice.
Elliff began his career as an elementary teacher at Prescott Elementary School. He earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction in 1986 and a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1982 from Corpus Christi State University. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
More than 20 candidates from throughout the country submitted applications for the CCISD superintendent vacancy. CCISD Board of Trustees conducted the nationwide search, and hired Waters Consulting Group to collect applications, conduct background checks on candidates, and schedule interviews.
